The secret my husband kept from me… can’t believe I didn’t notice sooner šŸ˜†

Leif and I just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. In full disclosure, Leif was sick, but we still managed to slip away (even if it included masks).

Think about this: I’ve lived with the same man for t-w-e-n-t-y years.

Yet I just learned of something he’s been doing for years and NEVER told me.

Because Leif’s a U.S. Masters Swimming Coach and constantly in the water, he uses a silicon wedding ring. That way, he doesn’t lose it. We learned this lesson the hard, expensive way. But I just discovered….

Leif didn’t buy a single silicon ring. Nope, he bought the 7 pack from Amazon, and get this: he color coordinates the rings to his outfits (and by outfits I mean whatever color Under Armour t-shirt he’s wearing with his cargo shorts that day).

When he told me this, I burst out laughing, and loved him a pinch more.

I mean, who does that? Apparently Leif does.

That’s the beauty of long-term relationships. There’s always more to discover and uncover in our friendships, love relationships, and communities.

This is especially true with God. Though we read and reflect and enjoy His presence, there’s always more.

We can ask God a thousand questions, and if all were answered, only have dipped our toes in the ocean of his wisdom (Romans 11:33).

We can watch a thousand sunsets and moonrises, and barely touch the hem of his robe of majesty (Psalm 93:1).

We can stumble and tumble a thousand times and be forgiven yet only experience a teaspoon of his mercy and grace (2 Timothy 1:2).

We can spend a lifetime knowing God, yet just scrape the surface of the dimensions of his love (Ephesians 3:18-19).

My prayer for you is you’ll never lose your spiritual hunger to know and plumb the depths of our breathtakingly beautiful God.
