Isn’t it amazing how far we’ve come?
More than 75,000 people joined me on a Lenten Adventure as we read through Luke and Acts to reawaken to the wonder of Christ and the church.
Each day we asked:
What do I most need to read but least want to hear?
The response?
Discovering where our hidden biases are getting the best of us.
Practicing what to do when we feel crushed by loneliness.
Learning what it means to be free… and how to get there.
Unearthing the cure for disappointment.
I’m still processing all God did in and through and around me during this Lenten adventure through His Word. And I’m shocked how much coloring and doodling brought each days’ reading even more to life through The 40-Day Live Lent Challenge: A Color Method Study for Luke and Acts.

Coloring brought Scripture to life. Coloring was a tangible practice for my hands to connect with my head and my heart.
The best part? If you weren’t able to join us for the Lenten Journey (or got a tad bit behind), its not too late to take your own adventure through Luke and Acts. Grab a bff or small group to join you.
The 40-Day Live Lent Challenge: A Color Method Study for Luke and Acts includes:
- A Welcome Letter
- The Reading Plan
- Instructions on How to Use the Color Method
- Suggestions on How to Get the Most From Your Study Time
- Space to Journal and Doodle
The goal of the Color Method approach to Bible study is interacting with the text in a tangible way that uncovers patterns and placement, that primes our hearts to hear from God through familiar passages in fresh ways.
Grab your downloadable copy, here.
To celebrate the end of our Lenten Journey and invite you to continue doodling and praying, reading and studying, we’re giving away TWO COPIES of the ESV Journaling Bible.

Patterned after the Bible that eighteenth-century preacher and theologian Jonathan Edwards used to record more than 5,000 notes about God’s Word, the ESV Journaling Bible, Interleaved Edition includes a full, blank page next to every page of Bible text. Created for Bible readers looking for as much space as possible for sermon notes, personal reflections, prayers, or artwork, this edition is destined to set a new standard when it comes to innovative Bible design focused on consumer needs.

To enter to win, leave a comment in the space below letting us know what YOU are going to study next now that Lent is over. Two winners will be selected and notified next Monday.
Happy Bible Journaling!
Congratulations to Rebecca Priess and Wendy Mantilla for each winning a Crossway Journaling Bible!

I am actually planning to do this Lent study. 🙂 I have been co-leading a study that doesn’t end until next week so I didn’t feel like I’d be able to do both over Lent…looking forward to digging in to Luke and Acts now.

Thank you Margaret, your Lenten studies are always a point of renewal for me. I’ll be returning to my all-time favorite, the book of John. It’s the place I return to that springs me forward in following Christ.
Thanks Margaret!!! I enjoyed the coloring pages through the Lenten study as well. While I missed a few days, I plan on completing it! My next study is an OPEN YOUR BIBLE study with my best friend. I write in my bible all the time and this would be wonderful!!!
Thanks, Margaret! I’m continuing in my BSF study of Revelation, and I am thinking of adding some Psalms to my regular reading.

I am planning a study of the word faith. What it really means and how to demonstrate it daily.
I so enjoyed the Lent scripture reading that I have decided to read the Book, John, right between Luke and Acts. I have already started reading John thru and then I will go back and really study it verse by verse and story by story. I pray over my bible study before, during and after making me able to receive so much from my study.
Thank You for your daily posts and study help.
Sincerely Bonnye B.

I plan to take a dip into Proverbs. Such wonderful words of wisdom there.
I am going to continue my read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year plan that my husband and I are both reading. It’s been a blessing to discuss what we’re learning together. I also plan to return to a 1 Peter study that I have not yet completed.

Please pick me…..I would love a journaling BIBLE
I have not jumped on the coloring bandwagon but saw you speak at IF & was a little inspired by your process. Would love to see a break down of your process so I could try to tackle journaling in a new light. I made some notes that day but my handwriting is horrible!! ?
I plan to start in the beginning with Genesis. I just finished reading the Bible and now want to start studying from front to back.

I completed the Lenten study and now that Lent is over I am continuing with my study of Revelation. I have been studying it at Bible Study Fellowship and it has been very eye opening for me and I am excited to continue it! The journaling Bible would be a great addition to this study to make notes right next to the chapters for future study! Thanks for being generous!

Thanks for your encouragement
I would love the journaling but bible . I love all Margaret’s devotionals and books . Anytime would be a good time to use it . Lent reminds us of the sacrifice God made for us .
Would love to win this Journaling Bible for my friend Dave, who draws and doodles on everything!
Planning to finish reading the entire bible through (looking up key things as I go along the way). It’s hard not to get caught up in “side” studies.
Studying The Lord’s Prayer with an amazing group of women… Our new pastor is teaching on this passage of scripture in such depth it’s changing how I read scripture and how I pray.
James. Reading through Women of the Word with ladies from my church and excited about what God is doing in the hearts of the women there. 🙂
We are just finishing Wonderstruck this week! Also studying the NLT Bible in a year. Lots of doodling and writing in this year in the word, would be nice if they gave room to doodle as the Word jumps off the page into my heart! Would love to do Margaret’s new study, Fight Back With Joy, with our small group after Wonderstruck.
I started studying the book of Ecclesiastes. ❤️
I am planing on getting into the book of Romans for a very in depth study. Romans was the first book I was introduced to in Church at 8 and had the first verse I memorized and keept in my heart for 20 years. Romans 3:23. I am wanting to deepen my walk with Christ to be more of an example to others and plant seeds and follow the paths that are being opened.
I am reading through Psalms for the next 31 days. My husband and I just finished reading the story of David and his encounter with Goliath. Rather than looking at the enormity of his opponent he instead kept his eyes one the strength and power and sufficiency of his God.
Prayer.
Digging deeper with the Bible and Richard Foster, Paul Miller, Priscilla Shirer and John Eldredge books on prayer <3
I am studying the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Read this blog and suddenly realized I don’t have a plan yet for a study. There are some great ideas here. And I didn’t get to finish the Lenten study. Our church is about to start Living Generously but I’m not sure it has a personal study attached to it. So, I’m in limbo, hopefully not for long.
Thank you so much for the Lent study and the daily inspiration. My next goal is to walk through James and challenge myself to live it out and be a reflection of Him!
Thank you for this giveaway! I would love to have a journaling Bible, especially because my Bible has notes written microscopically in the margins. I can hardly read some of them. ? I’m planning to study the parables of Jesus.
I want to go through the Gospel of Matthew to better understand the teachings of Jesus!
I have been studying about Healing for sometime now. Looking at all the accounts in the gospels of Jesus healing others. It is God’s will for all to be healed as every person who came to Jesus was healed. We have to remember we were bought with a high price. Jesus paid for our sins and took on our sufferings, sickness and disease. We must learn to fight back against the hidden enemy who seeks to place sickness upon us and how we can use the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s authority to put the enemy in his place and claim the victory that Jesus wants us to have. It is about more than physical sickness, but it is spiritual and emotional too. When we learn the tools we can be set free from the curse of sin and death and truly live the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
Thank you for the opportunity. I’ve recently joined a new church and play keyboards and sing leading worship. I plan to study Psalms for more worship (internal and external) inspirations.
I’ll be studying Romans. Specifically Romans 12:12 and its significance.
Thank you!
I am planning on studying the Book of John next.
Thank you for the amazing lessons during Lent. I think I’m going to go thru Luke and Acts again as I feel I rushed through so many lessons. Thanks for the giveaway, too. 🙂
I love my journaling Bible. I would love to have one to share with a friend.
Thank you for encouraging us through Bible study and for these resources. I just downloaded the Luke/Acts study and look forward to hearing from Him as I read His Word.
Thank you so much for the opportunity at a chance to win one of these wonderful bibles! I’m studying John now I love to journal and color. Coloring the scripture is becoming an addiction with me. I look forward to your next challenge. Thank you again!
I missed out on the first part of the Lenten series so right now I am starting the book of Luke over again!
Thank you so much, Margaret! I will continue following along with IF:Gathering as they work through the Nicene Creed and start Angie Smith’s Seamless study. Thank you for this Lenten journey and for sharing your incredible story. And thank you for the opportunity to win a journaling bible! I’ve wanted one for quite sometime. 🙂
I am going to facilitate a class at my church using the book Sacred Rhythms by Ruth Haley Barton, along with the workbook and DVD. 🙂
I am going to study the book of Hebrews. I want to study Hebrews because of its emphasis on continuing the race. I want to persevere.
Ephesians. And especially the prayers recorded in that letter.
I’m heading into Esther but reluctantly…I keep telling God it’s too over done the Christian women’s arena…no chip on my shoulder there, right? ? I’m trying to let go of that foolishness and just go in.
I want to study Revelations. I did a deep study in it years ago and want to review and see what the Holy Spirit is wanting to reveal. Using a journaling Bible might bring out some new gems!
The book of James!! Definitely!!! It challenges me to speak kindly to others!!! Thank you!
I did a different Lenten study – Spiritual Journaling – which was great, and I plan to apply it to my future Bible studies. I will continue with the BSF study of Revelation, and yesterday, I started Rachel Wojo’s book, “One More Step” and am doing that study with her. And in my ‘free’ time, I enjoy doing Kari Denker’s Journal and Doodle Through the Bible – currently, I’m in 2 Corinthians. I just love the Word of God in my life!
I teach a young adult Sunday School class, and we are studying through “Scouting the Divine.” 🙂 We just finished sheep and fields, so the bees are next! We live in a fairly rural area, so the students have really connected with this study. And being a farm girl myself, I’ve loved it! I really needed to be reminded that the Lord is my Shepherd, and He is meeting my needs every day, in the moment. I always want to plan way ahead, and this study has been a great reminder that the Lord has that all covered. 🙂
Hi Margaret
I will be doing a study on Galatians. Thank for opportunity to win a bible it would be great❤️
I am planning to revisit the Gospels. I love seeing them with fresh eyes after the Easter season
I’ll be studying the Sermon on the Mount. Can’t wait!

I am studying Philippians with my small group so I will be continuing with that.
I will be studying the Psalms.
In my ladies bible study, we are focusing on COMMUNITY. Asking ourselves how God can use us to reach out to the lonely, the isolated, the “forgotten” people of our community. We have a series of online sermons we are going to listen to and dig deep into.
I am soon to be a mother for the first time in June. In my personal bible study, I will be reading on what God requires of me as a mother and a wife. Looking forward to growing every day closer to my Saviour!
My kids and I are beginning a study on glorifying God, not any one book but more of a topical approach.
I am reading through the bible in a year❤️
Would love to doodle along the way ?
I want to do a study on prayer!
I plan to spend more time in prayer in order to enhance my relationship with God.
I will be doing Seated With Christ- a study on living in a culture of comparison. I don’t really struggle with comparing me to others, I really struggle with comparing me to what my ideal is and not achieving it or not having it within my reach.
I am journaling more and more this year. I have been going through some very unique challenges and I need to hear more from God. I am also starting a Propel Group later this month to bring together other like-minded women.
I will be studying James. ?
I am starting to study Peter,, how crushed he was after he denied Jesus, how he “went back” to his past (as a fisherman). This is a great message to how we respond to our failures! My word of the year is “Abide” and I’m learning so much about me & my devotion to God. There is a calling on each of us,,, I’m finding mine ?
Next few weeks the Love Languages of God.
I’m reading the Bible through chronologically this year and journaling what God is showing me every day. God’s word is living and active and I’m learning so much from scripture I’ve read many times before!!
I’m starting a Hebrews study this week and am super excited!
Currently, I am continuing a study on 1st Peter with Jen wilkin. For the summer, I am not sure yet what I am studying. I enjoyed this Lenten study a lot!
I have been following the IF:EQUIP teachings on the Nicene Creed. I would like to continue with that once my Bible study on Battle Plan for Prayer is done at my church in April. Love your teachings and encouragement!
Margaret,
I have begun to read the Purpose DRIVEN LIFE. I have read it once before right after lent and I love how it gave me more appreciation for life and how the Lord has created us to walk in his ways. I thank you for this opportunity!
I am beginning a study of the book of Hebrews.
I’m reading through the life of Jesus.
We are continuing our study, The Lamb of God, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament. Would love a copy of the journal bible!
My goal is to spend more time in prayer with my Lord and to encourage my three children to do the same.
And I’d like to become better at including scripture in my daily family life.
Thank you!
I have just recently started adult coloring while spending time with God. I am undergoing a journey to free myself from emotional eating…. I am using this journaling to keep my hands busy and out of the Lay’s and Oreo bags…. God is so good. I can’t wait to see what this path takes. I am also finding that scrapbooking items really enhance my journal and make it extra special. Blessings…..
I am so looking forward to dig deeper into the OT. I know there is more there than just “stories” and as I have recently learned, with proper study we can see how God works in the “unseen realm” that is manifested in our world. I know the journaling Bible, in the ESV version (which I don’t have) an excellent tool. I’m not working right now so buying it is not possible at the time.
I will be studying the “nameless” women of the Bible…Lot’s wife, specifically and what she has to teach us. Juxtapose that with the mention of her in Luke…”Remember Lot’s wife.” God had a reason for that. It’s exciting!
I can’t begin to tell you how much your ministry and writings have influenced my walk with the Lord over the years. I first heard you on Midday Connection and I was hooked! Thank you for your service and faithfulness to helping others learn more from your teachings and experiences. I would love a copy of the journaling Bible! My word for this year, is prayer. My next study is The Armor of God with Priscilla Shirer. Again, thank you!!!
Beginning a study on the book of Revelation
I have been reading through the Bible this year using the 5 Day Bible Reading Program. I have done this before but this year is different. It can be rough reading through the Old Testament. (Joshua is getting ready to lead them into the Promised Land.) About three weeks ago I asked God to show me things I’ve never seen before. I was reading Numbers 12-14 that day. It was amazing. Things began to pop off the pages. I can’t believe the underlining and notes I’ve written on the side. Who knew what was tucked inside those books! At the start of the year I had chosen the word “love” to focus on. As I’ve been reading I’ve been seeing over and over how God loves and knowing this is how he wants me to love. I came across Psalm 17:7a the other day and wrote it at the top of my reading log. “Show me the wonders of your great love . . .”.
When I began the Lenten Challenge my thought was, “Wow! This is going to be a lot of Bible reading. Is it too much?” Then I had to laugh. I would not give a second thought about spending a whole day engrossed in a novel. Can I ever get too much Bible reading? My plan right now is to continue studying through the Bible. Today’s reading? Deuteronomy 32-34, Psalm 13, Luke 13. Yes, Luke followed by Acts. I guess they saw that Luke and Acts were twinsies, too.
I plan to continue to read through the Bible in a year. Also plan to work on spending time listening to Him!
I would LOVE to have the Journaling Bible !!! Will be doing Ladies Bible Study on The Armour of God. ??❤️?✝
I am studying John with Journal and Doodle thru the Bible.
In this election year, I intend to continue my study in to how the followers of Jesus in the first century intersected their journeys with the political realm and what that looks like for me today.
I am planning to study James with a great group of Sunday School friends. I am looking forward to it!
Jubilee. As I am turning 50 this year I have been diving deeper into Gods commands for celebrating jubilee.
I will be continuing my “read the NT in one year” plan – happy to say that at this point, I’m a bit ahead of schedule. 😉
We are learning how studying scripture can enhance your prayer life. What a great way to keep thoughts and prayers straight!
What resulted, as people began to grasp the power of Jesus Ressurection was, that the Apostles went to the four corners of the world to preach the Gospel. The Ressurection was not an end in itself. Continue to study;yes, BUT take the message to others must be the action plan. Find others who are seekers and build them into a Bible Study group is an ongoing goal and why not start with Luke leading on to Acts.
Margaret,
I could really use this journaling Bible. I have started reading through the Old Testament but have disciplining myself to write in a separate journal. This just might be my solution. I am currently in Exodus with my daily reading. I am also taking a class on Revelation that started in September and will end this April…it has been fabulous digging deep in God’s Word! After all, “IT IS MY LIFE”!
Oh how exciting!!!! What I’m studying next is Psalm 119.
I am finishing a study entitled Believing Jesus by Lisa Harper and and planning to help a new group of young stay at home moms get started with Wonderstruck. Did this one about a year ago and LOVED it!!! I am looking forward to Tony Evans study on Spiritual Warfare.
I plan to walk verse by verse through the Book of Acts, to see how Easter impacted the early church!
I am going to study Exodus!!!!
Continuing my Fight Back with Joy study and doing Leviticus & Hebrews.
I am studying how to be less stressed. I’m a housewife and homeschool mom of 4, one has graduated. I would love to win one of these Bibles.
I’m spending more time in the gospels and psalms.
I’m studying the concept of waiting. How we hate waiting and how God seems to use it for our benefit! I’m doing a word study of “wait” and also studying women in the Bible who waited for an answer to prayer. I would love to receive the ESV Journaling Bible!
Our women’s ministry at our church is being blessed by Fight Back With JOY right now. I’m still open and searching for our next bible study.
My study coming out of Lent is going to be ! & 2 Timothy. Letters of encouragement, instruction and guidance on continuing to spread the Gospel. Focusing more on the sharing than on my own needs.
I want to dive into all those little books, like you mentioned at the Woman of Joy Redemption Weekend in Pigeon Forge. The ones we never thing to look at. Thank you for being you. You are an inspiration.
I just received a copy of Suzanne Eller’s upcoming book Come With Me and I’m looking forward to meeting each of the Disciples and find out how to practically answer Jesus’ call to follow Him.
Yes, a study with Proverbs 31 Ministries “5 Habits of women who don’t quit”.
Thank you Margaret for leading us along. I have enjoyed digging in and as a matter of fact I’m still digging!!!
Blessings on this ministry
I was literally JUST writing tiny words between the lines in my bible and thinking, maybe it’s time to get a journaling bible, when I checked my email and read about this chance to win one. I just began a celebrate recovery step study and that is the bible study I’ll be doing for a long while. I can’t wait to see the changes Hod has in store for me. Whether I get it from Margaret Feinberg or not, I’m definitely going to get a journaling bible in the future.
Hi Margaret!
I will continue marching on…
I do the Through the Bible in a Year and have for about ten years. Funny how it never gets old. Every day God speaks fresh to me through Old Testament, New Testament, psalms and proverbs. I love it!
I am reading through the Bible and will continue with that. Because of the lent readings, I am aware of some translations that I had never read before and will check some of them out. Sometimes a different translation from the most used one brings a new understanding of God’s Word. Looking forward.
I am currently reading through Romans and scripture mapping my story.
I am facilitating a study on prayer. How blessed that it comes in a time when I am greatly in need of prayer. Our oldest daughter is pregnant and her husband will be without a job in July, the baby is due in August and they have three children.
Studying Luke and I love to write notes for future generations of my family!
Currently started Curious Faith while on a mountain getaway. Have been wanting to do some art journaling.
My nine-year-old daughter and I worked through the Lent study. It was awesome. We are going to keep going by studying women in the bible.
Leviticus and Hebrews with my First 5 friends. It’s amazing!
I think proverbs or one of your studies. My mom died last month and I was her caregiver. I am lost. I didnʻt notice until recently that my bible study books are written by you-they are women of faith studies. God bless you and thank you.
I shall return now to my life plan journal that has me complete bible in a year. Having a journal actually n the Bible is something I have never had.
Committing the next several weeks to the book of Acts with the young adult group I lead and considering the Great Commission we are all called to live out.
Next I am leading a small group through the Scouting The Devine study, and am looking forward to seeing how God reveals parts of his true nature to us through looking at Him in a fresh way.
I looking to learn about Eve. Reading Wm. Paul Young ‘ s new book.
I am focusing on the Gospels. January began with a challenge to take a fresh look at what it means to be a disciple of Christ. My journey with my Lord began thirty seven years ago with a passion to be a disciple. Matthew is almost read and I did Luke and Acts through the Lent challenge, John and Mark are next.
I am going to return to studying the book of Matthew with a fantastic ladies group I met this winter. The group is called TruthSeekers – I have learned so much and made new friends. God is good.
Finishing last part of Lent study. Challenged in the tough patch my family is in to stay the course of focus on the LIFE in death. I can see that I need to finish ACTS-maybe read and add the coloring which I didn’t get to do first time around because of the joy… In His life and all that comes from it!
I am studying Hebrews and Leviticus right now…SO great! Everyone should study them together! Thanks, @First5app! LOVED going through Luke/Acts for Lent! I am also in Romans right now…:0) Just can’t get enough of His Word! I am also going through Fight Back with Joy with a friend.
He is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed! I am excited to be following a scripture writing program daily. I read, write , and ponder scripture. Feeling confident to add some color to the mix. Who knows what can happen next.

Would love a journaling bible! I am studying War Room! PRAYER and how to pray!
Margaret, thanks so much for the opportunity! I am new to bible study. I’ve done the whole bible in 365 days and now going back to different books for deeper meaning. The Lenten challenge of Luke and Acts was perfect. I am lead to study the book of John next and would love to have a journaling bible. Continued prayers and blessings for your encouraging work!
I am currently starting to read Prisilla Shirer. Fervent. I really want to strengthen my pray life. I also want to start bible journaling to increase in a creative way a daily walk with God. Thanks for the opportunity
I will be studying the book of Job.
I have really enjoyed your #LentChallenge! Some of my friends and I have been doing this the past few years and it has been awesome to study together and share what we have learned when we gather. Thanks for preparing these guidelines for us. 🙂 Also, I have started John, along with A.W. Tozer’s book, He Dwelt Among Us. I had just finished before our #LentChallenge, his book, “Dangers of A Shallow Faith” . . . which was very thought provoking and makes you stop, reflect, and examine your life. Also, as someone who is in children’s ministry, made me take a step back to reflect on what we are doing too. Thanks, for allowing God to work through in your gift of writing, and know that He is doing great things through you! 🙂
I am studying through Revelations and then moving into the Gospel of John. I have discovered coloring with scripture through your lent book and cannot wait to do so through the entire Bible!!!
I just finished your 40-day Entire Bible reading plan along with a group of friends that I invited to join me! Wow! My eyes are opened, all of us have never read the Bible at such rapid pace nor have we ever really read the entire Old Testament either. This has truly changed my perspective of who God is, and my identity in Christ! I’m starting another reading challenge in a few weeks with a group of friends again. I’m considering doing a 6 week study of a book in New Testament such as gospel of Mark.
Now that it is over, I’m so missing #LentChallenge and Margaret’s support emails!
It was a great way to get back into daily bible study and feeling connected …. now ‘m starting a nine week study called Embracing Grace – Reconciling Relationships with People and with God by Judy Baker. Thanks Margaret for the gift of support (and a schedule!) that you gave to us all.
I would like to read up the prophesies in the old Testament concerning life of Jesus.then move onto revelation.
I have been studying the book of Esther. Oh what great courage she had.
Write through Psalms
Not sure what I am going to study. I have several choices, one being the Lenten Study as our church had a Lenten study. I always have more to do than time to do them.
I see you Rachael!!!! LOL James is what we did lectio on last semester. God really worked over my heart with that book.

I would like to study the Beatitudes more!
I have just started studying the Prison Epistles of Pauls. There is SO MUCH incredible knowledge and understanding for me to gain from this – both personally as a woman and a wife, but also in regards to leadership as a pastor. I’m looking forward to it with high expectations 🙂
I plan on doing an in-depth study of the life of Christ.
I am studying Exodus with my Sisterhood group.
I intend to study the Gospel of Luke more closely with other students on my campus!!
I’m participating in my church’s study of Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God. My discipleship group is studying the epistles also.
I’m going to read John and Isaiah next. I’m also looking forward to reading No Longer a Slumdog by K. P. Yohannan
Thinking of digging into Titus as I seek direction for how I should kneel, lean in and listen to our Sweet Savior and His Word and receive encouragement and strength enough for today, wisdom for tomorrow and courage to step out and step into His next great adventure in this joyous life.
Just finished 1 Peter, and moving on to 2 Peter!
I have started doing a study of Matthew. I would love to win a journaling bible.
thanks.
I am going through a study on Fervent Prayer and The Purpose Driven Life in order to try and be where God wants me at this Season of my life. Thank you for providing the Lent Challenge it was a Great experience leading up to Resurrection Sunday.
I am studying the book of Revelation with a group called BSF and would love to have a journaling bible. I think it would help to express in writing to remember where I am spiritually and how God was working in that situation. It’s so good to record God’s faithfulness. Even in the hardest of trials God has shown me He is so faithful and I really would like to journal it.
I need to finish the color method on Acts. But I also have started writing the Psalms that mean the most to me know. I can’t write them due to some hand arthritis, but print them out so I can have them together in a notebook so I can journal them.
I will be digging further into Acts as I believe there is more that I can learn from it as I look a ministry in a multicultural environment. Want to study in light of the other letters within the New Testament as well.
While doing the Lent Challenge, I began listening to the Scriptures. I am not ordinarily an auditory learner but I LOVED IT! Definitely going to continue using the audio portion of YouVersion to do my daily devos. Would love the Journaling Bible (even if it ends as a gift I give myself) to allow me to go DEEPER Still.
I will be studying the Book of Ruth during a Bible study of 5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit. I would absolutely enjoy a journaling Bible to go along with my Study.
Hi Margaret and friends!
I’m planning to the “You’re Already Amazing Study Guide” by Holly Gerth. I have to pick up my book today!
I would love to win this. God has been speaking to me concerning our women’s ministry. We will be studying having an intamate relationship with God which will include the characteristics of God, Jesus, and the Holy spirit along with prayer.
I also added John to my Lenten reading finishing up on Easter Sunday. It really helped me focus on the true meaning of the Easter celebration. Now I am continuing my journey through Revelation which has opened my eyes to the majesty, great mercy, and justice of Almighty God.
I just finished the Lent 40 day study, it will take me several weeks to finish the coloring. I’ve purchased several new coloring books,” Live Loved & Lived Free”…coloring is such a relaxing method to be still and listen to the voice of Father God. As a Pastor’s wife and part-time employee of a seminary, life purpose coach, founder of a non-profit, and current MDiv student I so need creative methods to allow “me-time” to focus upon what matters the most, my relationship with God. The journaling Bible will be such a great tool. I can’t stop the aging process as I approach my 7th decade in a few years, but I can keep from growing old in my learning and growing relationship with God.
I’m planning to continue with my chronological reading plan for this year. I wanted to read the Bible all the way through in the order things happened. I love the idea of having so much extra space to write and journal in my Bible…would be so awesome to win a copy!
I will be studying/teaching Liz Curtis Higgs’ “Bad Girls of the Bible”.
I am just starting to study our Hebraic roots in Christianity.
I want to go back and dig thru to understand things like in Luke 22:31-34 where Jesus calls Peter Simon in verse 31 then goes back to Peter in verse 34. It’s the first time I caught that, after reading it a half dozen times or more. Also want to delve into the greek for more understanding as well. Grow in Truth!
I’m looking at Ephesians next, to get a better grasp on my identity in Christ.
I want to learn and study prayer in order to develop a more intimate relationship with Christ. I am new to studying the bible and need all the help I can get.
I plan to continue with Paul and reread his letters the the churches!
I will be studying (gulp) Revelation, because it is being fulfilled in our daily headlines. I’m going to focus on the hope, security, and therefore, peace we have in Christ in spite of the tumultuous times we live in.
I am going to go back to Acts and really dig in for awhile!
I will be studying the topic of prayer by Charles Spurgeon.
Hey! I’m Mariana and I am 19. I’m from Uruguay and I just started reading Counter Culture by David Platt. I really enjoy your studies and all the rosources you provide. Very thankful! God bless:)
I am now onto studying Exodus, along with 5 other Bible study courses. I am a new Christian and just learning about the Bible and would love to win a journaling Bible to help me continue on my journey with God. I finished the lent reading and am more ready to learn the way.
I going back and re-reading some fictional Christian classics. Next: Hinds’ Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard – the complete allegory with a women’s devotional by Darien Cooper.
I just began Live A Praying Life by Jennifer Kennedy Dean and am doing this one at home at my own speed. It is VERY good!
A slow and meditative study of the Psalms. I’d love to see a colouring (yes, colouring! I’m Canadian!) book on the Psalms! This wonderful journalling ESV Bible would be a help, though, even for non-creative types like me!
I would enjoy a journeling Bible as it offers the opportunity to write down what the Spirit says to me.I will be studying the book of Exodus and how it applies to the New Testament. It is wonderful to know that the Lord made the picture of the articles in the Ark of the Covenant relevant to the Church of Christ.
Thanks for this opportunity – I will be studying the book of Esther.
We have been doing the Lent devotions together as a family around the lunch table, and OH NO! ~we are a bit behind and still reading Acts~ Afterwards we will hit the Proverbs, as I really believe that if my children have a good working knowledge of the Proverbs they will be okay in life. 🙂
First, I want to go back and visit Luke and Acts once more and then it’s on to all 4 Gospels. I just returned yesterday from a 10 day visit to Israel and visited many sites where biblical events happened. I missed a few days on the Lent reading plan, while we were touring. I plan to revisit the stories in the gospel while re-living my trip through the 1000+ pictures that I took.
I really enjoyed the Lent journey through Luke and Acts. I am continuing on to Romans and would love a journaling Bible for this. Thanks again for the great commentary on the Lent study
Jody Bowhay
Will be studying about Caleb& how”He still believed”
The study I am now starting is 5 lessons based on the movie “War Room.” It is based on how connected we are to God in prayer and developing a consistent, effective and growing prayer time with the Lord!
I will be starting the Wonderstruck bible study with my sisters and daughter. We did the Fight Back with Joy bible study previously. I have enjoyed the coloring books while recovering from cancer treatments and stem cell transplant.
Thanks Margaret for all of the encouragement through these studies.
I just finished a Lent Study, and I have yet to decide what to read next though I will likely be inspired by something I read in my First Five app.
My one word for the year RESTORATION!
I sadly have been out of God’s Word and not writing or journaling. Life has been a been murky for me this year with many trials but this may just jump start me back to those two loves that I need so very much. Thank you even if I don’t “win” them–as perhaps I already have, and know in my heart what I need to do. The Holy Spirit does have His way with Holy Nudges!
I loved the Lent challenge. It was the first time I read the books of Luke and Acts back-to-back. It was wonderful! They read like a volume 1 and volume 2 of a good book! I have started encouraging all of my Bible study girlfriends to read them like this! Thank you so much for this challenge. It was life-changing!
Next on my list is to study through the book of Job. Ever since I did your Wonderstruck study, the Holy Spirit has been prompting me to dig into Job’s life. I’m excited about it as well!
Thanks again for the challenge!
The Armor of God!
My next study will be the word study. I am now trying to focus on a word to begin my study. Ian excited and never thought to seek a word to explore
Looking to take back the Joy in my life and the lives of women on my circle! Excited to see you again in Myrtle Beach, SC at Women of Joy!
I have never had a journaling bible and would absolutely love one! I am studying 1 Corinthians!
I will be studying the book of 1 Peter in a video-based study taught by Jen Wilkin. I lead a group of women in Bible study, and this is the first study we’re doing together that’s not topical. We will be given tools for personal Bible study by the author, allowing us to study a Bible passage verse by verse, with “coaching” from the author. Then when we come together during the week, she gives the commentary on the passage for the week. We are all looking forward to this study. What’s so providential about the Bible you’re offering is that it’s in the English Standard Version, which is the version author Wilkin uses. This is even more special because I have been looking for such a Bible that allows me to take notes with all that space. My Bible is filled with post-it notes, because there’s not enough space to write on. So I would truly appreciate receiving this Bible, should the Lord allow my name to be drawn. May God abundantly bless you for your ministry to women.
I want to study how to study the Bible.
The Sacred Echo. If you would like information on the book/study and or the author, just let me know! ?
Studying living so that by Wendy blight. love the fact that it has a blank page for each page of scripture…been waiting for one like that.
At this time I am doing the book of Revelation with my Husband as a bible study, we felt we should do this together, so far I have learned some much because we go to the old and new testaments to see the connection.
I am going to do God’s Living Word: Relevant, Alive, and Active, a Women of Faith study by Margaret.
I’m going to be studying Romans.
I’m studying both books of Timothy now… such a powerful and fascinating history behind the man with the servant’s heart commissioned by Paul….
I’ve been pondering what to study next and just now decided to begin this study! I was doing a study on living simply/generosity with my church family during Lent and thought that I had missed out on this one. So excited to get started tomorrow morning!!
I did a Christmas scripture Challenge and now I just finished doing your Lent Challenge and I loved it! I’ve been getting closer to Jesus and I want to expand on that. I’ve actually been wanting to get a journaling bible and I’m hoping to find a bible study or church youth group to join in my area! This would be an amazing blessing!
I plan to study Alex Kendrick’s “The Battle Plan for Prayer” as well as Priscilla Shirer’s “The Armor of God” studies/
I would appreciate having a journaling Bible. I have been taking more notes with sketches and I would like to explore this more with an organized format like the journaling Bible.
Hi Margaret!
I’ve followed your Lenten reading guide for the last 3 years and LOVE it!
I’m so very excited about the chance to win this Journaling Bible, thank you. Being on Social Security extras like this are not affordable.
I want to study Revelations and then all the small books that often get overlooked.
May your 2016 be full of blessings!
Hi Margaret,
Last night we started Fighting Back with Joy! Our group continues to be thankful for your studies and willingness to show us how to share Joy. We continue to pray for your healing.
Would love to win a journaling Bible.
Deb Griffin
Dubuque, ia
Hi Margaret,
I plan on studying proverbs, I long for more wisdom in my life. I’m so thankful for your ministry and the books you’ve written! I’d really love to win a journaling bible!
Sincerely,
Erin Mackenstein, Pittsburgh PA
Going to continue through my chronological Bible–now in Joshua!
I am reading Ecclesiastes and doing the Nicene creed on the awesome new IF: app!
I had never tried the coloring method before and I have to say that outside of Richard Rohr, this was my most memorable Lent study.
Thank you for your hard work! Also, the ESV is one of my favorite translations.
I am studying heros of faith. hebrews chapter 11 and all of the heros spoken about in this chapter
I am going to study how to get rid of fear and trust in God’s love for me. I am going through a very difficult time in my life and every day I am overcome with fear. I can’t seem to get my footing and really have faith that God is working and still loves me and will pull me through.
I am excited to study Romans in depth!
The letters of Paul in chronological order!
I’m going to do Beth Moore’s Children of the Day, studying 1 and 2 Thessalonians.
I’m heading back to my OWNit365 One Story Plan from youversion.
A friend and I are journaling our way through Isaiah.
I AM DOING THE READ THE BIBLE IN A YEAR. ALSO DOING AN EPHESIANS CLASS, AND A CLASS ABOUT THE PARABLES OF JESUS.
I AM ALSO GOING TO DO THE BIBLE STUDY THAT OUR WOMEN’S CLASS HAS CHOSEN WHICH IS ONE OF YOUR STUDIES.
GOD BLESS YOU…AS YOU SURE BLESS OTHERS. Thanks, Deb Ventre
I AM DOING THE READ THE BIBLE IN A YEAR…LOVING IT… I AM ALSO DOING THE WOMEN’S CLASS AND NEXT WEEK WE WILL BE DOING ONE OF YOUR STUDIES. I AM ALSO DOING AN EPHESIANS STUDY, AFTER THAT WE WILL BE DOING THE PARABLES OF JESUS…I AM VERY EXCITED AND CAN HARDLY WAIT. TOMORROW IS OUR LAST CLASS ON THE BIBLE STUDY BOOK “READING THE BIBLE FOR LIFE”.
I WANT TO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR STUDIES, THIS WILL BE MY THIRD ONE.
GOD BLESS YOU, AS YOU BLESS SO MANY OF US. THANK YOU, MARGARET. DEB
Really enjoyed your Lent study and posts! Thank you!
I plan to study Daniel. Although I do my best to read One Proverb and One Psalm everyday besides. Thank you for your encouragement to study God’s word, dig deeper, have fun coloring, and even those whom write their own stories.
I’m probably going to be doing your Fight Back With Joy Study or maybe a Beth Moore Bible study along with reading Priscilla Shirer’s book Fervent to learn more about prayer. I know I want to go through Fight Back With Joy sometime soon as I’ve been in a difficult season for a long time now. Thank you for doing this fantastic giveaway!
The #LentChallenge was my first time ever reading and studying the Bible. It is amazing the many Aha moments I had during sermons and the connections I made with the scripture. The notes were also very helpful for meditating and reflecting upon. Next for me is a book of wisdom Psalms
I am going to study John using your study plus Kari’s from StoneSoup for five doodle study. Loved the Lent Study but also just finished Fight Back With Joy. It was awesome. I am a missionary in Guinea WA so am loving having your good teaching. Would love to have a journaling bible.
I plan to start praying scripture over my sons and their lives consistently. Strengthen them in God’s Word.
I am a new babe in Christ. I read the Lenten reading, which caused me to want to learn more about Christ. I will be studying on Patience, I haven’t been journaling, really want to. The journaling Bible will help me to get started.
I’m reading Psalms.
I plan on studying and reading through your book, Overcoming Worry. My husband just lost his job yesterday and I have had your book on my kindle for a few months. I think now would be a perfect time! Have been wanting to get a journaling Bible for a long time!
I will be studying 1 John. I’m also interested in your scripture coloring book. I’m not artistic but I think I could color! And learn Scripture at the same time! I would love to win the journaling Bible, not for myself but for a dear friend who is going through a rough time right now and finds peace in Scripture and art. She’s been wanting such a Bible. Thank you for all you do!
I plan doing your lent study.
I will be studying “Praying the Prayers of Jesus” by you. Thanks for the devotionals
I am planning to study Psalms and Hebrews.
I loved coloring my way through Luke and Acts! I am looking forward to continue following Paul through his letters to the Corinthians. My church Bible Study group is currently working through Romans, hence why I am skipping ahead. Blessings!
Would love to be able to illustrate my way through the Bible. I am currently doing a comparison study of Leviticus & Hebrews.
I so enjoyed facilitating your Fight Back with Joy book with our Ladies Bible Study group a few years ago and have been following you online ever since. I’m currently in a Revelation study & didn’t get to do your Lent Challenge, but hope to do it this summer. My church is also having a Bible Conference in April (studying in Philippians) and I always look forward to studying in Philippians. I used to journal a lot but have let other things take up my time. I’m excited about the journal Bible and think it would be a great encouragement and help for me to focus on what God is telling me and apply it to my life. Thank you so much for your ministry — your joy is such an encouragement to many.
At present I’m reading Before the cross;_the life of Jesus. Then I will do 30 names in 30 days.
Maybe this sounds strange, but when I awake in the am I’m thanking God and yet I don’t feel it’s me. It’s like I’m possessed, yet I have this great thirst. I probably have a screw loose.
Please, please, please!! I NEED this Bible!! I never win these things so I’m begging. Lol. Jk. But for reals.
I am studying Revelation in a precept study. If you are familiar with Kay Arthur studies, you know she does word marking too!!! This has been life changing and I’m so thankful for you gals. This is part 2 of her Revelation study, which is super slow paced and in depth. I have learned sooo much! I bought your Lent coloring book study, loved it!! Marking the words has been such an eye opening habit. I love taking my pencils and digging in. I would love to have a Bible to mark in! I bought an olden one from the thrift store for 2 bucks but the pages are thin bible pages, not the best for journaling.
Anyhow, can I ask for prayer again? I am expecting our third child and we have just been told that we have 60 days to vacate our rental bc the owner is selling. I am trying to have faith in God’s provision (He has always taken care of us) but everytime we go look at houses, I just cry. I love where we live and this is very stressful financially right now. I am also hormonal. Lol. Thank you! ❤
Our group loved Fight Back with Joy. We are looking to study Ephesians armor of God. We hope to get to see you when you are on Jekyll Island in April. Thank you.
My next study is going to be the book of Mark. I really enjoyed the readings for the lent!! Thanks for sharing the reading plan!!
I am going to do an intense study of “Unless a Grain of Wheat die, it abideth alone: John 12:24 and 25
This Margaret want to be more like you ~ I am seeking to ignite my prayer life by spending more time in His Word ~ which is the Word on Fire ~ I want it burning in my heart as it was in those on the Road to Emmaus!
I will be participating in a Women’s Bible Study Group learning to “Fight Back With Joy” using the book, workbook, and of course the Bible.
I will be participating in a Woman’s Bible Study Group improving my skills at “Fighting Back With Joy” using the Book, and Workbook of the same title, and of course The Bible.
I plan to do a study of Isaiah. Also, my family has really been challenged lately so I plan to go back through Robert J. Morgan’s THE PROMISE –Romans 8:28.
I am praying about leading a God-filled group of women on a life changing journey with Jesus as we “FIGHT BACK WITH JOY”! I am so excited!
I am using the study method to finish up my Revelations study. I learn and understand and remember so much more this way. It’s a part of my life. I’ll have to create my own illustrations. I may alternate old and New Testament. They are both so important in knowing God. Thank you so much
Hello Margaret, I have learned so much this Lent season, about God, and about myself! Its so amazing to me that He wants to communicate with me!! would like to continue on reading and Romans.
I would love a new journaling Bible. I am planning on digging deeper into prayer.
I am studying Acts right now. However, I have a previous Bible study I finished and there are some nuggets I want to go deeper. My desire is to spend more time in this study.
Hello! I did the Lenten study and next will be studying the book of John. A journaling bible would be helpful in keeping record of my spiritual growth! 🙂
I will be leading a Bible Study on Prayer, with a group of ladies, at my house. It would be wonderful to go through this study, with a journaling Bible.
I am planning to study Ephesians 🙂
I would LOVE a journaling Bible – have had trouble sticking with journalling, but I think if the pages to journal were right in the Bible, I would do better…..
I loved doing the Live Lent study! Thank you for the time you invested in choosing different translations to read each day and for the beautiful designs for coloring on each page.
I plan to start the IF: study on the Apostles Creed with my daughters next week, and after that I want to read through the Psalms and ask 3 specific questions to journal on (so I can focus particularly on God’s character as I read the Psalms) — I’m excited for that!
Bible journaling is something I have never tried and just barely discovered; What a beautiful way to combine my passions of The Word, devotions, connections and art! I’m fascinated! My Lord graciously gives me a new path for Bible reading and study each year–after lent I settled in Ezra & Nehemiah–and now switching gears to Colossians and has given the word “joy” to me for 2016 (sweet 16.) (This is how I found you.) May marks one year of my mothers death and Bible journaling might be a great healing project.
I would so love to own a journaling Bible.I am studying Acts next and really looking deeply at the first church beginnings. Have a blessed week my friend from a far. Hugs
I am going to study the book of matthew
I will be continuing my study on what I believe and why I believe it, in order to share with my Youth, and help them shape their beliefs as well. I will also be going through Simplicity and Wonderstruck.
I want my next big goal to be to read through the whole Bible in 2016, but I’m going to start with the New Testament.
My next actual study just started & is the James: Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore which I’m doing with my lifegroup.
However, I just signed up for a new online study by Nickie Kosiarz called 5 Habits of Women who Don’t Quit.
I am studying Healing as I have been told that I have an incurable disease that has made me nearly bedridden.
Now that Lent is over, I realized that I have spent far more time in the New Testament studying than I have in the Old Testament overall. I have started back at the very beginning with Genesis and plan to work my way through the Old Testament.
I am beginning a study of Mark. I am learning so many interesting things about his life, his relationship with Christ and the history of his writings. I love incorporation inch art into my study and time of worship. I offer a workshop called Praying in Colors I’d love to share with you.
I’m planning on reading through the book of Romans! I actually just left my Bible on campus and have been looking for one just like the ESV give away 😉
I plan to focus more on the positive in life, the beauty He surrounds me with, and less on the disappointments and losses that cloud my vision.
I want to start right from the beginning, even though I have already read Geninus. I want to start from the beginning in a bible journaling bible. I believe it will help me remember better what I’m reading. I have a very hard trouble with memorization.
I’d like to enter to win a chance for a free journaling bible please.
Well, I don’t have a Bible. But I’m planning on going through both Lent and Word of Life from Daily Grace.
I really hope to win because it will mean a lot to me. Thanks

I have read through the Bible recently… but I decided to start again and make notes on each verse this time. I need space and that journaling Bible would be perfect 💜💕
I am so sad I missed this drawing. I have been wanting one of these bibles for some time. I am so inspired by Jonathan Edwards, but I am a homeschool mom of six and I just haven’t been able to afford one, but hopefully one day I will be able to and it will be such a treasure and blessing to me. 🙂
This looks amazing!!!
I plan on reading the Bible more getting into the word more getting to know the Bible. I am a new Christian learning how to live the life of Jesus the way he intended me to live but I need a Bible to do so me and my husband share a study Bible but I would love to have one of my own to study and read and get to know
