My dear friend Debbie said one sentence to me that’s changed everything. Perhaps you are in a place, too, where you need to hear this: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 I’ve white-knuckled this passage through cancer, embezzlement, betrayal, job loss, unemployment, and so much more. But sometimes, let’s be honest, it just doesn’t look good. |
It doesn’t always look good when you’re standing next to a coffin of the one you love. It doesn’t always look good when you’re struggling with being a long-hauler from the pandemic. It doesn’t always look good when you’re facing a difficult diagnosis, the unending calls from creditors, or watching your prodigal wander so far from home. Debbie said to me, If it doesn’t look good, all that means is God isn’t finished. I don’t know where things don’t look good in your life–where you’re ready to call it quits, give up, or walk away. Wherever it’s not good, rest assured, God isn’t finished. Let’s cling to Jesus extra tight, and allow Him to carry us through. I love you, Margaret

And if your church is hosting a Christmas tea or celebration and looking for a speaker this year or next, please know that Christmas teas and gatherings are some of my favorite events of the year. Why? It’s a Jesus party and sooooo many people who don’t know Jesus are there! So have your discipleship or women’s leader reach out and let’s throw a Jesus party together!
