Enter To Win a Fashion Giveaway

Remember the early days of Toms Shoes when the buy-one-give-one concept emerged?

Something never felt right about buying shoes that felt like scratchy fabric on flimsy cardboard.

Maybe I’m coldhearted. Or I just have an achy lower back.

But buying unattractive or uncomfortable products to make a difference when the products sat unused in my closet never seemed quite right.

Toms Shoes has come a long way since those early days. Now my feet (and back) feel much better in their products. They helped pioneer a more social conscious way of shopping.

What joy to know that more fashion brands are emerging with stunning products from around the world. That. Don’t. Sit. In. My. Closet. Unused. Let me highlight and giveaway a few!

At the Catalyst Conference a few weeks ago, I made a new friend, Liz, who launched a breathtaking brand based in Uganda known as Sseko Designs.

Sseko produces buttery soft leather handbags, adorbs accessories, and super cute sandals with interchangeable fabric designs. Check them out, here.

The business launched as a way to generate income for high pot
ential, talented young women to continue on to university.

BTW, Liz even survived the great whites on Sharktank and lived to tell about it.

Today, her business is thriving. Every woman who has graduated from Sseko is pursuing her college degree or has graduated from university and on her way to making our world a more beautiful place.

This week Sskeo is giving away their brand new “Sophia Bush” gift collection–which includes a pair of black ribbon sandals, a set of bangles and a set of Be Brave cards. (gasp).

Liz is a new friend, but you also must meet my long-time friend, Maegan Hawley. After visiting a group of women who had come out of the sex industry in Thailand, she began wondering if there was a way to fuse her love for fashion with her desire to empower these women. She founded Ethic Goods out of National Community Church in Washington D.C.

Her Ethiopia collection employs over one hundred HIV+ women who are breaking the cycle of poverty. Each piece is made from bullet casings collected from former conflict areas of Africa and made into beads.

Ethic Goods is giving away their gorgeous Ombre Layer Necklace . (XOXO)

And they remind us:

We can dream big dreams—Thy Kingdom Come—and change the world.

Congratulations to our winner, LaCinda Sigmon, for being our Ethic Goods winner and to Andrea Rust who will walk away with the Sseko “Sophia Bush” gift collection!
