I have many of these but I’m adding a few too. Thanks Margaret. I’m glad you talk about writing from time to time even though its your least favorite subject to discuss. I have crush on Buechner too, he is an amazing writer. I don’t have that one. Thinking of you . . . prayed for you while walking on the beach yesterday morning. Hugs.
Thanks sweet Shelly. Yes, Buechner is one of my favs!
Thanks for the list Margaret! I’m always looking for books to inspire better writing skills. Hope you are doing well and I will see you in Nashville at the LifeWay Forum.
See you there Miss Kelly!
Thank you for the list! Some were expected, others unusual. Dan Taylor’s “Tell Me a Story” and Annie Dillard’s “The Writing Life” inspire me. As do you!
I haven’t read Taylor’s book. I’ll have to add it to the list! Thanks, Ingrid!

YES! A great addition, miss Jen.
Rumors of Water by L.L. Barkat. At one point, I told myself I couldn’t buy and read any more writing books until I actually sat down and started writing. This was one I read after giving myself permission to return to those books. I’m re-reading it now for a writing workshop and still think it’s pretty fabulous.
Thanks for grinding it down for us.
I loved Walking on Water by Madeleine L’Engle. So magical and inspiring. I also loved At Eighty-Two by May Sarton. Sarton and L’Engle wrote these books at the end of their very prolific careers and lives. There’s much to be gleaned from each.
I haven’t read any of these! Looks like I have quite a few sleepless nights coming up.
