Beginning on Wednesday, February 14, the writer of the Gospel of Mark will usher us into the action as we watch Jesus heal the blind, repel demons, multiply bread, and hush storms. His power and might know no limits—which will confound his closest followers and attract large crowds.
But we will also watch as Jesus suffers and dies at the hand of the government. So much for a powerful political leader and hope-bringer, right?

Jesus came to flip our definitions of power and hope on their head.
And Mark ensures that whatever preconceived notions of who we imagine Jesus to be will topple.
