Don’t you hate craving for a sugary piece of Halloween candy only to find somebody else has already eaten it? This crosses the line between sick and wrong.
You don’t have to live in fear again. Here are 7 fantastic hiding places for you to hoard your goodies this year: [Tweet this]1. At the bottom of the laundry basket. [Tweet this] Be sneaky with this. If they see you digging in the dirty clothes, they may believe you are collecting laundry for a load or two. Nobody wants more work in exchange for a Milky Way.
2. In the vegetable drawer. [Tweet this] The surest way to keep any unwanted hands out of your stash. Chances are, if you can find the veggie drawer in the first place, you probably are the only person who knows where it is.
3. (if you’re female) With your feminine products. [Tweet this] No roommate, husband, or child will ever search through your maxi pads looking for a bar of Snickers. Besides, if you’re looking for “female necessities” anyway, might as well satisfy the chocolate craving. Two birds. One stone.
4. Cleaning supply cupboard. [Tweet this] If they took the initiative to open the cupboard without being told to, they deserve a Butterfinger.
5. Under the lawn mower. [Tweet this] Same as above. If they took the initiative, they deserve a treat.
6. In a filing cabinet. [Tweet this] This one has the added bonus of making you appear extra efficient and task-orientated as you hunt down your last packet of Whoppers. If your boss happens to walk by your office and see you faithfully digging for apparently hard-to-reach files for hours at a time, you may come out with a promotion.
7. Where you stashed your Easter goodies. [Tweet this] We all know you noodled up such a great hiding place you can’t find it again.
Tip: These are best used with a diversion strategy. Place a smaller bowl of lesser-loved candy out on the counter. Everyone will believe your supply is gone once this is emptied. Like Jesus and the wedding wine. Save the best for last and the real party has only begun.
Safe stashing and Happy Halloween!
