Life is one of God’s greatest wonders. Much of your life is spent giving, serving, and working. But today the challenge is to do something that makes you—just you—feel rejuvenated, refreshed, and joyful. Maybe spend some time outside. Or, grab a meal at your favorite bistro. Spend time knitting or enjoying your favorite craft. A coffee date with a friend. A great novel. Spend time today doing something that makes you grateful to be alive and rediscover the abundant life that awaits you each and every day. Even if it’s something simple. It doesn’t have to be complicated. But, it does need to be something that makes your heart happy. [Tweet this]
Share with the world one of your joy activities—something that makes you feel oh-so-alive, and in the process, remind others how to experience the fullness of life.

running outside…I hear God so clearly when I run…so very thankful He restored this gift back to me 🙂
I find an immense amount of joy and peace in crocheting and knitting.
Matt 28:20 God’s presence is with me in every moment of this day and my focus on that will bring joy that compares with nothing #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK
He is with us always. Thank you for that reminder, Reba! Celebrating with you!
Nina– Praying that today you find a moment for yourself today! I would love to see pictures of the things you knit and crochet. I’m sure they are beautiful.
We’re soul sisters, Ro!
Oh the wonder of a walk outdoors. I was tempted to be a houseplant today, but for goodness sakes: The weather is near 70 degrees in St. Louis, so I took the plunge and took a brisk walk soaking in the sunshine of a rare June-in-January day and enjoying the sensuousness of a silken breeze. Then I came inside, drew wide the drapes in the music room and flung open the doors (leading to a screen porch), which I’d customarily never do in January. And I sat down at the grand and played and sang Bach. There is nothing which lifts me to the heavenlies like this Spirit-filled music. What gifts God gave me today. What joy. What wonder! What a way to rejuvenate in Him.
I love feeling the sunshine on my face, I didn’t get to do that today…but I did it yesterday. And it felt great. However, in my office cubical today I got to have a conversation with a co-worker and help her find a church…really NOTHING makes me feel more alive than knowing (right at the moment I’m doing something) that it was a God appointment. Amen?
Lynn, I love taking walks, especially on beautiful days! And what a gift that you were able to sit down and create beautiful music!
Tara, amen! Amazing that God gave you that opportunity today.
I recently bought a cabin by a creek and last weekend I sat on the front porch, sipping a cup if coffee, and watching cows in a field for almost an hour. That was an intentional gift to myself.
Today as gift to myself,
I am going to Church
I am going to have an incredible lunch with my family (and make some incredible coffee)
I am going to read/write
To follow Jesus means to give of our time, talent, and treasure sacrificially but we must not ignore the fact that we are in need as well.
