What Does it Mean to #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK?

You may have noticed that when tweeting or instagramming about Wonderstruck, I don’t use the hashtag #Wonderstruck. Turns out a little known country star by the name of Taylor Swift has a perfume named Wonderstruck.

The teeny-boppers have hijacked #Wonderstruck.

So you’ll see that on the bottom of each page in Wonderstruck (the book, not the perfume) and on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest we use the hashtag #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK.

I actually like it better.

Living wonderstruck reminds us of the intentionality it takes to toss back the covers, jump out of bed, and live awake and aware to the wonder of God in our lives. [Tweet this]

What Does it Mean to #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK?

It all begins with a simple prayer: God, show me your wonder. Begin praying this for the next 30 days. And live wide awake to the way God wants to answer.

When you begin persistently praying for wonder and living with divine expectation, the posture of your life will change. [Tweet this] You’ll begin seeing God on the move in your neighborhood, workplace, and more.

You’ll begin to #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK

In the back of Wonderstruck, there’s a 30-Day Wonder Challenge designed to awaken wonder in your life through a series of specific activities. Most of them don’t take much time, but they’re powerful for igniting the wonder in our lives.

Activities include setting an alarm and watching the sunrise. As the light illuminates the horizon, reflect on the idea that it’s often darkest before the day and God’s mercies are new every morning. Another activity challenges you to sit through 20 minutes of silence and solitude to simply be with Christ. Each of these experiential activities invites you to reawaken to the wonder of God.

Across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and more you may see #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK pop up. We need to be each other’s eyes and ears and hands when it comes to recognizing and experiencing the wonder of God. [Tweet this] Consider this hashtag a reminder to live every day intentionally seeking the ways God is answering your prayer for wonder.

How to #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK:

  • Post photos of moments, nature, friends, gifts that make you long to know God more on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Post quotes from Wonderstruck, Scripture, or other authors who draw attention to God’s wonders.
  • Create a #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK board on Pinterest. As you spend time on Pinterest, pin pictures, images, crafts, videos, and quotes that reveal God’s wonder.
  • Look for a Wonderstruck Wednesday Challenge every Wednesday at MargaretFeinberg.com, inviting you to open your eyes to a specific element of God’s wonder each week. (Receive Margaret’s blog posts in your inbox each morning as a reminder, here).

Pick up a copy of Wonderstruck book or the 7-Session Wonderstruck Bible study today and begin to #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK each day.
