Hot cider. Homemade treats. Music in the air. A dusting of snow. A brightly lit tree. The giggles of children. The lighting of the candles. The carving of the meat. The scents and sounds of the holiday season lunge and linger.
Yet for some, the holidays are painful.
Leif and I just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. In full disclosure, Leif was sick, but we still managed to slip away (even if it included masks).

I just drove 20 minutes, one-way, to the pool, only to discover my pool bag–with goggles, towel, and everything I need to swim–wasn’t in the car.
Only I hadn’t moved it.
