Hey friend,
We were overwhelmed with all responses to the post about The Undoing–the idea that in Advent, perhaps Jesus wants to meet you in what you leave undone, as you create space for Him to undo things in you. So many of you are embracing a lower key holiday season and finding the feelings of being overwhelmed are sloughing off.
Now if you’re struggling this holiday season, and believe me, I get it!, we need to rediscover some of God’s best medicine.
God gives us heavenly tinctures in the forms of paintings and sculptures, snuggly pups and cuddly kittens. Sips of healing and delight await in the sun’s first rays, our blazing moon, and the sky asparkle with too many twinkles to count (It’s even found in making up silly words, like, asparkle.) |

This Advent, drink in the divine elixir of a ridiculous comedy that gives you belly laughs, gather around the table for the real food of life–knowing and being known. Be extra silly with a kiddo.
Remember, “He who sits in the heavens laughs” (Psalm 2:4), and He will fill you with joy (Psalm 16:11).
My hope and prayer is that you will encounter Christ and His great joy in all its forms and facets and fun. And that you will experience the merriment of Christmas–even if you have to fight for it!
I love you! Margaret |
