Why I Wore a Dress For the First Time Since My Wedding Day: Meeting the Maasai

I don’t know why I gave up wearing dresses, perhaps because I never wore many dresses growing up on a sailboat.

I like dresses. I just don’t buy them very often.

But I knew I needed something special to wear to meet my sponsored child, Nairesiae.

A week before we left for Africa, I found the perfect black dress and a red scarf.

It wasn’t until after we arrived that I discovered my sponsored child is Maasai. The color of the tribe is red.

Wonderstruck, indeed.

How My Faith Has Changed Since The Organic God

Over the last year, my friends at Zondervan have been hard at work taking the hardback version of The Organic God and bringing it to paperback. Since the book’s release in 2007, more than 50,000 people have been through The Organic God book and 6-session DVD Bible Study.

The new paperback version makes my husband, Leif, who carries the majority of books around the country to events, very happy.

BREATHE

We are created for a relationship with God, and that means we’re meant to experience God’s presence. We need God’s presence and the awareness of His nearness if we’re going to grow into the fullness of all God intends. Apart from His presence, we can begin to convince ourselves that somehow God is distant, somehow we can handle things on our own.
