The Secret to Creating the Best Bible Study

I often receive emails that read something like this:

Your Bible study must be filmed in front of a green screen or altered in post-production. It is just too gorgeous to be real, right?

One of my favorite parts of a new Bible study is dreaming about the locations and backdrops of filming. I’m so grateful for crews who ensure each study is filmed in downright beautiful locations—even if it means dealing with noisy tourists, wild critters, and drastic temperature drops.

How Prayer Healed My Story

Margaret —  August 1, 2014 — 36 Comments

Let me introduce you to my friend, Mary. Mary DeMuth is the author of over a dozen books including Not Marked: Finding Hope and Healing After Sexual Abuse. She has spoken around the country and the world about living an uncaged, freedom-infused life. She lives in the Dallas, Texas area with her family and three dysfunctional pets. Follow Mary on Twitter and Facebook.

Over the last several weeks, I've invited friends to share their words in this space as we explore the mysteries of prayer during the Summer Bible Study.

No matter how we choose to pray, prayer is essential for a follower of Jesus.

Just as a relationship with your best friend would soon turn sour if you stopped speaking, so too will our relationship with God. Prayer invites us into constant communication with God so our relationship with him can flourish.

But, if we’re honest, there are times in our relationships with God where prayer can feel flat, rote, or downright lifeless.

Here are 5 ways to jumpstart your prayer life this week:

What a Week Off Social Media Can Do For You

Last week was the first week I’ve chosen to take off of social media, and I count it a pure privilege to do so.

I jotted down the thoughts I wanted to post and tweet and even snapped a few photos I withheld from posting on Instagram. Apology for all the randomness: Continue Reading...
