Sometimes I’m tempted to hold back my toughest questions from God.

You too? Oh, phew. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I convince myself that if I don’t say things aloud then maybe they won’t be true or maybe they’ll go away. Or I tell myself that if I really told God what I truly thought, what I was really wrestling with, somehow God couldn’t take it.

Facing The Impossible? That's God's Specialty

A prayer for wonder means living expectant for the ways God wants to reveal Himself... even in the tiniest details of life. Our attention might be drawn to patterns and particulars in Scripture we’ve never seen before. Our spirits may waken to prayer in fresh and unexpected ways.

God may choose to reveal Himself in our unexpected conversations as we go through our daily life.

But I believe that as we pray for wonder, we’re once again going to have our faith ignited in the truth that our God specializes in impossible situations.

The Secret to Creating the Best Bible Study

 

I often receive emails that read something like this:

Your Bible study must be filmed in front of a green screen or altered in post-production. It is just too gorgeous to be real, right?

One of my favorite parts of a new Bible study is dreaming about the locations and backdrops of filming. I’m so grateful for crews who ensure each study is filmed in downright beautiful locations—even if it means dealing with noisy tourists, wild critters, and drastic temperature drops.

What To Do When You've Lost Your Holy Awe

Yet the focus on the functionality of ministry combined with the increased sense of familiarity can numb us to the marvelous work to which we’ve been called—encouraging people to walk in the fullness of all God has called and created them through Jesus Christ.
