Archives For Easter

Our Gift To You: FREE Reading Plan For The 40-Day Bible Reading ChallengeThis Lent I sensed God nudging me to read the entire Bible through in 40-days preceding Easter.  I selected The Message Bible for its readability and fresh prose. I invited people to join in. More than 5000 people around the world downloaded The 40-Day Bible Reading Challenge.

Over the last two months, I’ve heard from pastors, friends, moms, dads, grandmas, and more who have been diving into the Scripture and drinking in the fullness of God’s Word at the pace of about 30 chapters a day.

But along the way, I’ve also heard from many of you who said, “I wish I would have known sooner!” and “I really want to do this!” Continue Reading…

What I learned about God and myself after Reading the Entire Bible in 40 Days

I can’t believe The 40-Day Bible Reading Challenge is over. Don’t worry, you haven’t missed out. You can grab a FREE reading plan, here.

We began around February 14 —a day of love and we concluded on the eve of Easter—another day of love.

If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that I’m party-crashing Holy Week.

Why?

Because for the last six weeks, thousands of crazypants people like me took the plunge and committed to reading the entire Bible (yep—you read that right) in 40 days. (You can read how to join us and download a free reading guide, here).

And. We’re. Almost. Done.

I can’t help but start the celebration early, even if that does mean party-crashing Holy Week.

Throughout the last several weeks, God has been wowing, astounding, and infiltrating us with his message of hope, love, mercy, and grace. [Tweet this] This weekend not only marks the culmination of our 40 Day Bible Challenge, but the celebration of Jesus’s resurrection. Continue Reading…

Why I'm Party Crashing Holy Week

I know it’s Holy Week.

Today is Maundy Thursday. Also known as Great and Holy Thursday, Sheer Thursday, Thursday of Mysteries among other names.

Sandwiched between Holy Wednesday and Good Friday, today is the day that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ.

I should be solemn.
I should be preparing my heart for the crucifixion.
I should be imagining my place at the Last Supper.

The only problem is I’m turning cartwheels inside. Continue Reading…
