Are you having one of those days? Your feet just hit the floor and you already want to climb back into bed.
Bills piled on the counter. That phone call you’ve been dreading. A jam-packed schedule. Kiddos who won’t stop arguing. Stuck in traffic. Waiting for treatment. Relationships hanging on by a thread.
We’ve all been there. You aren’t alone.
Friend, can I encourage you? No matter what adversity you are facing today, God will meet you there. [Tweet this] Whether you’re feeling vulnerable, lost, alone, or angry today, God won’t shy away.
Here are a few of my favorite verses that get me through those dirty-dog-bad days. [Tweet this] Read them quietly. Recite them aloud. Cling to these truths and promises even in this:
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
–Psalm 34:18 MargaretFeinberg.com
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
–Deuteronomy 31:8 MargaretFeinberg.com
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
–Psalm 145:18 MargaretFeinberg.com
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
–Isaiah 41:10 MargaretFeinberg.com
Today, choose to #LIVEWONDERSTRUCK by the presence of God—even in the midst of your adversity or circumstance. Turn your eyes away from your problems and glue them on God. Remember,
God is good.
God is on the throne.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
What passage or verse gets you through your roughest and toughest days?
Thank you. It’s early. I’m up with my coffee and my smartphone and wishing I could avoid today, wishing I could go back to bed. Your posting on courage together with these verses was/is helpful. Thank you!
Happy Tuesday, Bill.
i don’t have any verse or passage for now. however a michael w. smith song, open the eyes of my heart lord, had stuck in my head.
That’s a great one to play on repeat. Thanks, Victoria.
For so long I struggled to know that God was really love and really loved me…so I like to keep my mind fixed on His love…Love is the lens I want to read my life with…so I like this and can pray this at all times…
that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen
blessings to you
#LiveLoved. What a beautiful lesson to learn!
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Psalm 28:7
Love this one, Reba. What a gift.
Thank you, Reba. I need this one today, too.
Bless you sweet Margaret! I need these! I’m feeling more like myself these days. Not quite 100% there but am on my way to climbing up the mountain with God.
Big hugs Margaret! Love you!
You go girl!
1 Peter 5:10
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
This is my go-to verse in dealing with death, cancer, disappointments, hurt, unknowns and insufficiency. The old version of The Living Bible ended with “and He will make you stronger than ever.” I have experienced that countless times!
Yes! Love this one, Linda. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing – this is my favorite and my lifeline! He is in control.
11 For I know the plans I have for you,
Amen!
Margaret, thank you!
I love how God uses the body of Christ to restore from within. I really need these verses today. I just moved my parents into Assisted Living. Dad needs the care which is physically too much for Mom. Dad is fine. Mom is angry, bitter and rude adjusting to smaller home, different environment etc. I covet any and all prayers as I gently try to direct her to look for the good, to share smiles and kind words. She and Dad don’t know Jesus personally – only through me. Prayers for them to open their hearts to Him are also requested.
Blessings & Peace
Lifting you up, Kim!
The one that comes to mind right now is Ephesians 1:4 “God has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight.” It makes me smile every time I think of it.
Having one of those days. Thanks for the reminders of God’s presence always
Hug to you, Melissa!
I love these scriptures. My daily “anthem” is Steve Bell’s song, Everything We Need. (Lyrics by Gord Johnson). Praise is one of the most significant inspirations for me to move into scripture and prayer.
The lyrics are simple:
“In the morning Lord we do look to you for the strength we need just to make it through, have mercy…. In the evening Lord we look back and say, it was in your strength that we made our way, have mercy….. You are everything we need. Feed us Lord.”
Thank you for sharing these scriptures. My Pinterest board is going to be full of the scriptures you share.
Wishing you a blessed day.
xoxo
I haven’t heard that song, Jennifer. Thanks for sharing!!
When the days come and it seems like the world and walls are crashing in around me, I lean on and trust Phillipians 4:13 “I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.”
Mmmm. Beautiful one. Thanks, Sherry.
